“Initiative is doing the right thing without being told”
– Victor Hugo
We recognise that our employees, partners and clients are in a relationship of mutual trust and dependency. We each recognise our responsibilities and strive to achieve our objectives without taking advantage of each other.
Employees and Partners
It is our aim not to make employees and partners work for the company, but rather that the company works for them – to accommodate their individual ambitions and personal goals within a framework of company sustainability over the long term.
They are the life blood of any company and must be treated fairly and with integrity. When Fern started out, not many people knew a lot about computers – and so we accepted a duty of care to give our customers the best advice based on our knowledge and experience. This duty of care continues and we will continue to treat our clients in an equitable manner at all times.
Long Term Goals
We recognised from the outset that in the only constant is continuous change. We embrace the always present opportunity to explore new ways to improve our systems so that our clients can do their job more efficiently and cost effectively.
Worldwide Standard Systems
We have always taken the approach of developing worldwide standard systems for very basic reasons: single development platform; single version to be supported; ease of documentation and training material; sharing good ideas from all the different customers who contribute to the development of the system. This philosophy has only recently gained more justification due to the new international banking standards and global regulatory reporting demands.
